Why
TabTap started at Café Saarein: a small queer bar that needed reliable tabs, fair tip handling, and shift handovers — not a corporate POS contract. The Social Code built it as a web and iOS point-of-sale that fits how the guest-focused bartenders actually work behind the bar.
You keep control of products, team roles, and payments. Staff open and close shifts with a real registry flow. Owners get reports on revenue, hours, tips, and breakage without exporting spreadsheets from five systems.
TabTap is intentionally scoped for independent bars and cafés. If you run a small venue and want something you can trust on a busy Friday night, this is the system we use ourselves.
Features
Order on the floor, close the night properly, and pay people fairly.
Product groups, search, split payments, team tabs, and guest pay links — tuned for speed when the room is full.
Start cash, end-of-shift checklist, safe counts, receipts, breakage, and tips — so nothing disappears between handovers.
Roles for owners, editors, bartenders, and managers; worked hours split by bar and management; tip reports and monthly payment summaries.
Cash, pin, Stripe Terminal, SumUp, Mollie, and custom channels — with open-payment reminders when someone still owes a tab.
Browsers on fixed terminals plus a SwiftUI staff app on iPhone — same Firebase backend, same shift data.
Small bars
TabTap is not a self-serve signup yet. If you run a small bar or community café and want to talk about using the system, get in touch — we’ll figure out whether it is a good fit and what setup would look like.
